Katie brings a fantastic blend of creativity and real world design know-how, and it’s this mix that has made Katie the perfect fit for Copper & Ash, as her knack for combining creativity with practical design solutions aligns seamlessly with our values. Katie’s enthusiasm for joining Copper & Ash stems from a shared passion for working closely with independent, passionate clients. She’s driven by the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the user experience through thoughtful design, from functional layouts to the selection of materials and lighting. Katie’s diverse portfolio, spanning from small local cafes to grand-scale restaurants and offices, demonstrates her ability to keep each day fresh, exciting, and creatively fulfilling.

A Wealth of Experience

Katie’s career began at Nottingham Trent University, where she studied Interior Architecture. After a year-long placement at a top London design agency, she was lucky enough to spend nine years at a global design agency, where she contributed to extraordinary retail projects worldwide. These experiences have shaped Katie into the designer she is today, ready to bring her insights and innovations to Copper & Ash.

Beyond the Design Studio

Katie lives in Leicestershire with her husband, 2-year-old daughter, and their golden retriever, Cooper. She enjoys long walks in the countryside, baking (her lemon drizzle cake is a firm office favourite), and enjoying a glass of wine or two with friends.

Matt began his career working in Product and Industrial design in 2008, where he developed his keen eye for detail and obsession with the inner workings of a project. He then spent time with some of the country’s leading interior and branding design agencies, where he helped national and international brands create immersive customer experiences.
Since 2022, Matt has enjoyed completing countless projects for independent brands across the UK with Copper and Ash.
